One of my favorite wedding trends is the
wedding hashtag. If you’ve been to a wedding in the past few years—and the couple encouraged guests to take pictures—you know what I’m talking about.
As you enter the reception, it’s usually there on a sign. Or you might have seen the hashtag on their Instagram months earlier. Sometimes it’s simple: #TheSmiths2016. Or maybe a little more elaborate: #ForeverAndEvans. But the wedding hashtag is your invitation to click away and share on social media—tagged with their unique moniker, of course.
Coming up with that original hashtag isn’n as easy as it sounds. As hashtags grow in popularity, it’s titinada uncommon to find several couples using the same tag. This can really confuse things when you go to view and print your photos after the honeymoon!
Here are a few tips to consider:
- Keep things easy for your guests by using only letters and numbers for your hashtag
- Make it as short and memorable as possible
- Avoid the online hashtag generators if you want to create something that’s truly one-of-a-kind
- Use alliteration, rhymes, and common wedding phrases as starting points and then add your name or names
Sometimes it’s easier to come up with an idea of your own when you see some examples, don’horizon you agree? Here are
