Introducing The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center showcases the beauty of the Texas Hill Country like no other wedding space.The sprawling property features native grasses and wildflowers, in addition to multiple water features and tree-covered trails. Located just 10 miles from downtown Austin hotels, this iconic venue is a favorite among Austinites who treasure it’s contribution to conservation, ecological research, and education. The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center transports guest from the busy city into a calm and tranquil landscape. This venue attracts couples who love the outdoors. It’s natural, wildflower-focused landscape is the perfect backdrop to an intimate garden party or glamorous black tie affair.

Venue Use Fees

$3,000 to $6,500

The fee fluctuates depending on the time of the year and the day of the week.

Peak Season Saturday rate is $6,500

Food + Beverage

Below numbers based on the average of three proposals obtained from caterers on the venue’s preferred list. Added $200 fee for setting up venue’s tables and chairs

Additional Rentals

The below estimates are based on proposals from a mid-priced rental store.

The venue provides 250 fruitwood folding chairs and all the tables needed for large events. Our rental calculations take this into account.

Note, the max capacity a for ceremony in the Great Hall is 180.

OUTDOORS

Outdoor Tenting

Tenting in the Courtyard is not permitted. Tenting in the Family Garden and Lawn is permitted, but not if it’s raining (ground cover control / protection). Note that hosting an event in the Family Garden and Lawn incurs an additional fee. Since it’s so rare to erect a tent at this property, we are considering the choice to bring in a tent more of a design consideration as opposed to an expense that is associated with venue selection.

Heating + Cooling

Plan to rent outdoor heaters and cooling fans should you wish to use them in outdoor areas.

Sound + Lighting

Most couples use existing property lighting, including festoon lights draped in the courtyard.

Estimate includes working with DJ or band to provide ceremony sound, dance floor lighting, and uplights (estimate $750).

UTILITIES

Additional Power

It’s rare to bring extra power to this venue. Plenty of power for band, DJ and additional lighting.

Stage + Dance floor

– $1,200 is the average price of bringing in a third-party stage for a band.
– Most couples use existing flooring for the dance floor

Restroom Facilities

Restrooms are available off the main courtyard, inside the Great Hall, and at the Family Garden & Lawn

TRAVEL

Bussing

It’s not common to bus guests to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. For budgeting, consider $900 for a 40 passenger bus to transport the wedding party and family.

Valet

Not common to offer valet at this venue, but it is an elegant option.

– $500 for 100 Guests (25 cars)

– $1,000 for 150 Guests (50 cars)
